Mother’s Day was a special time for comedienne Pokwang. The proud mama celebrated the occasion as she takes care of her youngest, Baby Malia. Life’s never been brighter for the actress. However, another matriarch of the family was honored during the special holiday. She was none other than Nanay Gloria, the loving mother of the Kapamilya star.
In a touching Instagram post, Pokwang greeted Nanay Gloria a Happy Mother’s Day. The actress gave her mother a beautiful rose. Then, she thanked Nanay Gloria for everything the mother did for her and their family. A part of the caption read:

It was last year that everyone found out about Nanay Gloria’s condition. In an interview with Boy Abunda, the comedienne couldn’t help but break down as she talked about her mom’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Families with those affected by this disease go through a difficult process. This is because Alzheimer’s disease takes away the patient’s memories, slowly making them forget who they are and who their loved ones are.
She said that it got to the point where her mother forgot her children’s names. But Pokwang is trying not to let her sadness and disappointment be seen by everyone around her.
It is definitely a painful experience to have, especially the times where Pokwang misses her mother’s cooking.
But the actress hasn’t lost hope. She continues to show Nanay Gloria how much she is loved and cared for everyday.
