Earlier today on ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime,” host and comedian Vice Ganda revealed that hashtag member Ronnie Alonte broke down in tears during their first night in U.S.
The 21-year-old actor and performer flew to the U.S. for the first time together with Vice for a concert. During their first-night stay at the hotel, Vice narrated that he heard Ronnie crying in the bathroom.
“I was so surprised, humahagulgol siya sa C.R.,” Vice said.

When Vice came up to him, Ronnie explained that he wasn’t used to being that far away from his family.
During their It’s Showtime spiel, the young celebrity praised all the overseas Filipino workers for their sacrifices.
“Talaga pong napakahirap ng mga nagtatrabaho po na OFW sa ibang bansa. Kaya sabi ko po sa kanila, saludo ako sa kanila,” he said.

Being a son of an OFW himself, Ronnie came to the realization that the lives of Filipinos abroad aren’t a walk in the park.
A teary-eyed Ronnie Alonte expressed, “Akala ko po talaga porket nasa America sila, marami silang pera, pero ‘yun lang po ‘yung akala ninyo“.
The other Showtime hosts couldn’t help but get emotional from Ronnie’s speech.
