Last Saturday, June 9, Gretchen Barretto went live on Instagram to face her critics. This was after she and her friends drew flak from netizens for laughing at a certain letter sender’s request.
Despite her friend telling her not to engage with offensive netizens, La Greta went on with her live video, saying:
“Hindi ako namamatol, I’m just being true to myself, Mimi. Kasi hindi naman sa lahat ng oras, puwede nila tayong batuhin nang batuhin.”
Gretchen then explained that she actually grew up in a poor family. She said people cannot call her ‘matapobre’ because she hasn’t forgotten her roots:
“Yung tinawag niyo po ako na matapobre, you can not call me matapobre simply because nanggaling po ako sa buhay na pobre. Hindi ako nagda-drama pero the fact po na nagtrabaho ako at age 12 years old to earn a living, to pay rent…”
After addressing those who called her out for laughing at a request letter sent in by a fan, La Greta went on to talk about her relationship with Tonyboy Cojuangco.
The actress said she never denied that she was Tonyboy’s mistress. Despite celebrating their 24th anniversary last February, Tony remains married to his legal wife, Denise Yabut-Cojuangco.
Gretchen Barretto said:
“… right now, after 23 lovely years with my Tonyboy, you can call me kabit and I will tell you, I am happily his kabit. I am happily his mistress.”
Netizens were quick to react on the said video, commenting:
