Since 2015, “Ang Probinsyano” has opened many doors for both recurring and rookie actors. And just this month, the show was proud to introduce Isabela Vinzon of “The Voice Teens” as Lala, a new love interest for Cardo.
A 17-year-old playing the role of Coco Martin‘s opposite may seem odd for many, but the young star surprisingly was able to deliver. During her recent interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda“, Isabela revealed that she received the offer from the show as early as her stint on the singing competition. It turns out that they chose her instead of her father, veteran actor Roi Vinzon.
“First acting experience ko po ‘to. Kasi supposed to be yung Papa ko po talaga yung gustong kunin ni Direk Coco.”

Asked by Tito Boy about her experience so far, the celebrity daughter said that it’s always a fun time on set. Moreover, Isabela is in awe of Coco, who—despite his stature—treats his co-stars like his equals.
“Napakabait nila lahat, lalo na si Direk Coco. Being the director and creative of Ang Probinsyano, napakahirap saka bida ka pa dun pero yung pressure nasa ’yo e. Pero napaka-humble niya pa rin kahit busy siya, nakakausap niya kami isa-isa.”
