April Boy Regino is the legendary OPM singer who blessed us all with the memorable words,
These are the lines of the iconic song “‘Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin” that instantly remind us all of April Boy Regino. That, and the countless caps that he always throws at the audience after every performance. Or, at least, he used to.

In 2013, the OPM singer shocked the public after he announced that he was quitting showbiz once and for all. At the time, he was in the middle of recovering from a serious health issue.
A year later, April Boy’s name sprung up anew after he publicly gave credit to then-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for financing his bills. Apparently, there came another health problem, this time with his blood sugar levels, that rendered him partially blind.

Life went on for the musician after he opened his own resto bar to keep himself occupied. However, there was a time where he lost faith in his first love — music.

But with the help of those who didn’t give up on him, April Boy was able to remain positive amidst all the hurdles in his life. Just this Wednesday, he guested in Willie Revillame‘s “Wowowin’” to revive OPM, as well as to personally thank the host for supporting throughout his journey.
Even now that he’s already inactive in showbiz, thousands of fans from all over the country still root for their idol.
