Our country is far from completely recognizing equal rights for the LGBT community. Although there have been acceptance and recognition from various organizations and groups, the LGBT community can still experience discrimination from fellow Filipinos. But this didn’t stop comedian Wacky Kiray from expressing his love for his partner.

Wacky had his guesting last year on Boy Abunda’s late night show, “Tonight with Boy Abunda.” Wacky Kiray or Ricardo Balaroso Jr in real life, got emotional as he talked about his 12-year relationship with his partner.
He and his boyfriend, Jereck Ty met at Punchline Comedy Bar in 2005. Jereck was one of the audience as Wacky performed his stand-up comedy act.
Kiray also admitted that it wasn’t an easy road for them to get that far. They have encountered complications where they almost part ways, but luckily, their love for each other is stronger than their problems.

“Kung gaano kalawak ang natatanaw ng mata mo, dapat ganun ang pang-unawa. Medyo emosyonal ako pagdating sa kanya kasi ang dami na po naming pagsubok sa buhay. Mayroon pong mas malalang-malala pero hindi po siya bumitaw sa akin,” Kiray said during the interview.
Last July 26, Wacky happily posted a photo of him and Jereck, to mark their 13th anniversary. He wrote in the caption: To infinity and beyond. The photo immediately gained thousands of likes and fans of Wacky expressed their admiration towards the comedian’s relationship.
Kiray is currently a judge on the show “I can see your voice.” He is also a part of ABS-CBN’s “Banana Sundae”, “Home Sweetie Home” and “Bagani.” Kiray is also hosting comedy gigs in different countries and cities in the Philippines with his fellow comedians such as Super Tekla and Donita Nose.

The comedian also won the title as the Greatest Entertainer of ABS-CBN’s talent-variety show “I Can Do That.” He won after he got the highest combined public text votes and judges scores. Kiray took home the grand prize of One million pesos and emotionally thanked his family and the people who supported him.
