Kapamilya TV host Gretchen Ho confirmed that her handbag, along with all her money, passport, and valuables got stolen while she was in London.
Ho is currently in London to report on the 2018 Prudential #RideLondon, the world’s “greatest festival of cycling with more than 100,000 cyclists expected to participate” during the 2 – day event. This year is the 7th edition of the event.
Ho decided to take some time for herself during one of their down times to go on a bit of a shopping excursion and roam around the streets of Oxford.

While looking through a store, Ho put her bag down on a chair and dumped her clothes on top of it along with her camera. As she got distracted by some more clothes, she noticed a suspicious looking lady near and eyed before she choosing to ignore her.
After the suspicious lady left, she immediately felt like something was wrong and when she went through her stash of clothes, she noticed that her handbag was missing from the pile. However, her camera was still there.
She immediately reported to the store but unfortunately, the culprit already got away.
After further investigation, she found out that cases like these are extremely rampant in tourist hotspots such as London and Paris have been an ongoing problem for a long time.

She also found out that after her bag was stolen, the culprit even went back to the store, put on new clothes, and tried to steal from another unsuspecting customer.
Fortunately, with the help of fellow Filipinos she met during her trip, she was able to report the incident to the London police and she also immediately got help from the Philippine Embassy.
Although initially devastated with what happened, Ho was now able to laugh and joke about the incident through a phone interview with her co-hosts from “Umagang Kay Ganda.”

“Ang lesson learned ko po dito ay kailangan ihiwalay yung pera, ‘wag dalhin lahat. Tapos kailangan din po may dala kayo laging Xerox copy ng birth certificate niyo at ng passport para mabilis po kung may problema o aberya,” Ho reminded everyone.
