Some people don’t even intend to become famous, but are lucky enough to be given the spotlight due to their charisma. An example of this, is Rita Gaviola, a native of one of the Philippines’ indigenous groups, the Badjaos.
We first saw Rita in several rounds of Facebook posts where people were raving about her unexpectedly beautiful face and modelesque girls. While most Badjaos have their own brand of beauty, Rita stood out for her rather commercial appearance.
This has led to several offers and on-screen appearances for her, the biggest one being a teen housemate in the country’s most talked about and longest running reality show, Pinoy Big Brother.
With her different norms due to her cultural background, not very many people understood Rita at first. But her presence in the house has been a needed light that shone on the unknown face of her cultural group.

While she didn’t win the competition, she continued to have a steady modeling career with several endorsements and fashion gigs being offered to her. She has also gained some fans and followers after being part of Kuya’s housemates.
We might not have heard a lot about her, but she has recently been the talk of the World Wide Web with recently posted photos that showcased her stunning looks and modelesque physique. As if it wasn’t enough, people also clamored on new photos of her and her alleged cute boyfriend.
In a recent photo shoot for an endorsement, Rita Gaviola was seen sharing the lens with social media influencer, online brand ambassador, and model, Gello Marquez. The two were said to shoot for an eye wear brand which led them to the rather picturesque landscape of Banaue.
Probably playing on the angle of Philippine culture, the location was a genius move for the brand to showcase the multifaceted culture of the Philippines by putting Rita, an indigenous person, in contrast to another cultural cradle, Banaue.
